Dora's Story
Hi my name is Dora. I am named after Dora the explorer, because I am into everything and afraid of nothing.
I don’t weigh much and can squeeze into the tiniest places so my mom says I don’t have any bones.
Roberta, my godmother, rescued me from a trailer park where I was an outside kitty. If someone had taken me to the vet and gotten some medication for my eyes, the vet said I would probably have my eye sight. My godmother kept me safe until I was adopted by Katie, my new mom.
I get along with everyone in the house even the dogs who think I need a bath every time they see me. I tell them I can do it myself but they insist.
I love being in a house where there are other blind animals because we are all treated with love, affection, dignity and respect.
My mom says being blind is a blessing not a handicap, I wouldn’t know because my life is one big adventure.
This is how I looked the first time Katie-Momma met me.
I like to sleep with my brother, Blinker, but he doesn’t always sleep at nap time.
Here I am planning my next adventure.
Our sanctuary runs on donations.
